Using Email Signatures to Generate more Traffic

Dec 8th, 2011 by admin in email marketing tips

This traffic generation idea is a no brainer but overlooked most of the time.

You are sending emails everyday to your friends, your clients, your family or maybe even the Pope who knows. But what is important is that you are sending emails out constantly to somebody or the other.

Why not just add a short and attractive signature at the end of your email?

Email Signatures are:

a free way to advertise
are unobtrusive, they mesh well with your emails
they have the potential to reach a big crowd if they are constantly forwarded

Imagine you sending a funny joke to a friend. In that email you have an interestng email signature that points back to a site you want. Your friends on reading your email forwards it out to another group of friends and they forward it some more. Several hundreds of people have the potential of reading your signature advertisement that points back to a site that you chose.

My current email signature reads like this:

regards,

Suthep

Watch FREE Satellite TV on your PC! Over 3,000 World-Wide Channels. Click here now : http://tinyurl.com/yv5leg

The link on the above email signature points to a website where they can buy a program that allows them to watch 3,000 TV channels on their computers. This is something that is interesting to a lot of people and I make money if they happen to buy the program. So it is a win-win situation.

Yahoo! and Hotmail have been doing this with all the out-going emails people have been sending using their service for years. They now have millions and millions of members that they recruited this way.

So in conclusion, you should stop wasting time reading this article any further and go to your email program and add your email signatures. Make sure it sounds interesting and no longer than 2 lines. Slowly but surely you will see more traffic to your sites.

Also do change it often so as not to bore your readers.
